THE ACCIDENTAL TEXT

Once upon a time, Maggie Cooper lived for adventure. Jumping out of planes was child’s play. Now she can’t even work up the nerve to ask out her coworker. For a bit of self-therapy, she begins to text her recently deceased mother’s phone—the only problem is that the number has been reassigned and for weeks she’s been unknowingly texting a stranger her deepest thoughts and feelings. There have also been some not-so-deep texts, like the ones about her appreciation for her coworker’s butt.

When Chase Beckett, the unsuspecting stranger who has more in common with Maggie than he’d like to admit, texts back, Maggie is beyond mortified. But message after message and night after night, Maggie realizes that Chase’s wit, charm, and advice are exactly what the doctor ordered. Is it enough, though, to get her back up in the sky? And what about her heart? Can she risk taking a leap of faith for the man on the other end of her accidental texts?

WRITING!

If you are looking for a quick and cute read. This book for being short is really well written. There were no plot holes, or spelling errors, which is how I like my books. I believe we all do. Also the characters were really mature and developed really well.

I like my character with problems as much as the next person, but it was refreshing to have a set of characters whose only problem was dealing with grief.

HOT or NOT?

Maggie has been texting her mom’s phone to deal with the grief of losing her mom. Until one day her dad cuts the phone plan and doesn’t tell her, which leads to a mysterious man who now has her mom's old phone number.

I was hoping that this mysterious man was someone she knew, because I am a sucker for right under your nose romances, but Chase is just a random guy. But he is sweet and also going through the grief of losing his own mother. Maggie and Chase learn to overcome their grief by doing adventurous stuff, which was Maggie’s mom's favorite hobby.

Chase also takes on the adorable tradition of “a kiss for good luck” from Maggie’s mom. Right before cliff jumping, “a kiss for good luck”, BAM! Lips collide, which had my stomach in knots.

This was the perfect read for Valentine’s weekend.

As always, I do recommend forming your own opinion, so there is a direct link to the book up above. And I always welcome feedback on my own critique as I’m not always right.
